James' time in college has come to a premature end. But that doesn't mean his life is over, does it?
A chance meeting with a disoriented dancing raptor, along with an offer from his last friend gives our jaded dropout a last-ditch effort to turn his life around.
A fresh start on a tropical island
On the island of Manu Ahi, James will have to navigate living with four colorful Dino gals as his new housemates;
Ashley, the dancer from that fateful night. While she may look like only a party-girl, as the first tenant and Vanette's best friend Ashley's taken on some house responsibilities for herself, taking on the role of cook and den mother.
Vanette, the head of the household with a devil-may-care attitude. She's also Ashley's best and oldest friend, having taken Ashley in after a very dark period in her life. Vanette believes that the best way to live is simply for yourself.
Coral, laid-back surf instructor. She's living comfortably among her friends, cruising through life at her own pace. She's content with where she's at in life and with herself for the most part, and prefers things stay simple.
Polly, Internet artist and gremlin gecko whose main skills include cashing disability checks, getting into internet drama, and waking up at 2 pm every day. While not the most useful around the house, the energy she brings to the party is always appreciated.
Volcaldera Ashfall is a multi-ended choice driven novel that focuses on navigating James through his time at the madhouse that is his new home.
Editor takes

“A story-rich island of bruised hearts and dinosaur teeth — Cavemanon's pitch promises atmosphere, but I hope the fall to rock bottom lands as hard as it reads.”

“Android support gets it on my phone for bus stops, and a multi-ended visual novel is naturally suited to short sessions — just be kind with the save system.”

“No puzzles to parse here, so I'm grading the branching logic: choices need consequences that feel earned, not random.”

“With four housemates and multiple endings, each playthrough can be a different 'run' — my replay depends on whether routes diverge enough to matter.”
How to play
Read through the story and make choices at key moments to guide James through daily life with his housemates. The narrative branches based on those choices, and multiple endings are available to discover.
Tips
- Pay attention to each housemate's personality and background; their relationships drive the story.
- Replay after finishing once to see how different choices lead to different endings.
- Don't rush through the dialogue, as details about James's situation and the island are easy to miss.
- When a choice feels significant, think about the character involved before deciding.
- If you're unsure about the game, try the Android demo APK available on the download page.
