Terms of Service
Last updated October 8, 2026
newindiegame is a free directory of new indie games. The games belong to their makers and are played on their own sites. Be decent in comments. If you submit a game, it must be yours to submit. Paid plans buy placement on our site, not downloads, sales or search rankings.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use newindiegame.com (“newindiegame”, “we”, “us”), run by SKALDOS LTD. By using the site, creating an account or submitting a game, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy are part of these terms.
2. What newindiegame is
We pick new indie games from places like itch.io and Hacker News, and from makers who submit them, and write a short page about each one. The games are made and hosted by other people. When you press Play you leave our site. We don’t control those games or sites and aren’t responsible for them, so use your own judgement before downloading anything.
Game pages include descriptions, tips and editor takes that are drafted with the help of AI and the game’s own public page. We try to keep them accurate but can’t promise they are free of mistakes. Game names, art and trademarks belong to their owners.
3. Accounts
You need an account to rate, save, comment or submit. You can sign in with Google, Discord, or an email address. Keep your login to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 to have an account.
4. Comments and ratings
Your comments are public and shown with your handle. Don’t post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, spam or advertising, or anything that isn’t yours to share. You keep ownership of what you write and give us permission to show it on newindiegame. We may remove comments or ratings, or suspend accounts, that break these rules.
5. Submitting a game
When you submit a game, you confirm that:
- you made it, or you have the right to submit it on its maker’s behalf;
- the link goes to the real game, and the game is not malware, a scam, or adult content;
- we may show its name, description, images and links, and write our own page, tips and articles about it.
We decide which games we list, which category they go in, and what we write about them. Free submissions are reviewed in the order they arrive; the submit page shows the current estimated wait. A free submission is not guaranteed to be accepted. If your game is listed and you want the page changed or taken down, email contact@newindiegame.com.
6. Paid plans
Paid plans are one-time payments in US dollars, charged by Stripe when you check out. There is no subscription.
- Featured ($6.99): your game is published without the free review queue, with a dofollow link to your site, a slot in the homepage Featured shelf for 14 days, and 1 blog article about the game.
- Spotlight ($26.99): everything in Featured, a homepage Featured slot for as long as newindiegame runs and the listing stays up, 3 blog articles, and extra placement in recommendations on related game pages for 30 days.
Paid games still have to follow section 5. Most go live within minutes of payment, after an automatic check. If a game needs a manual look and we decide not to list it, we refund the payment in full. Sponsored placements are labelled “Featured” on the site.
Articles are written by us with the help of AI; we choose their topics and wording. A paid plan buys placement on newindiegame. It does not guarantee any number of visitors, players, sales, or any position in search engines. See the Refund Policy for when payments are refunded.
7. Removing content
We may remove a listing, comment or account that breaks these terms, or that we are legally required to remove. If you believe something on newindiegame infringes your rights, email us with the page link and the details, and we’ll look at it promptly.
8. Changes and availability
We may change or stop parts of the site. We’ll update these terms when things change and change the date at the top. If a change matters for a paid plan you’ve already bought, we’ll honour what you paid for.
9. Liability
newindiegame is provided as is. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for games and sites we link to. Our total liability to you for anything related to the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts handle any dispute. If you live elsewhere as a consumer, you keep the protection of your local law.
