What it is
Catcopter is a free multiplayer browser game in which cats with propellers on their paws fly around tropical islands. Players shoot and brawl over catnip, with several cat classes and team-based modes.

Hi everyone! I had the idea for catcopter on my mind for a long time (got the domain ~13 years ago). It's a web multiplayer game where you can fly a dangerous cat and engage in competition with other players and critters (pterodactyls, chickens and angry penguins). I made it initially for me and my friends but it was quite fun so I thought I'll share it here too. The game is intentionally dorky and it was fun to develop. The tools I used were mostly Opus 5.5 (objects / rigging / motion), Tripo3d for some elements I struggled with and Fable for optimisation (cpu / networking). Backend physics are done with Rapier. Luckily I had a lot of elements / game dynamics done before from another project of mine ( https://flat.social ) so the actual iteration here took me around a week.
Editor takes

“Four paw rotors make it look floaty, but a 14 m/s gunship with a machine gun means your aim and twitch timing are what decide the duel.”

“Five classes across Catnip Brawl, Team Battle, Steal the Chicken and Tube Race keep every browser session a different scrap; no download means one more round is always a click away.”
How to play
Choose one of five cat classes and pick a server to join. Fly with your paw rotors and use your class weapon to collect catnip or fight other players; the exact controls are shown in the in-game How to Play menu. Objectives change per mode, from holding catnip to team battles, stealing a chicken, or racing.
Tips
- The Gunship is an all-rounder with a machine gun, so it is a good class for learning the basics.
- Watch your battery meter so you don't run out of flight time in the middle of a fight.
- In Catnip Brawl, focus on knocking catnip out of carriers instead of chasing every cat.
- Different classes have different speed, health, and weapon roles; pick one that fits the mode you're playing.
- In team modes, stay near teammates to secure objectives and support each other.
