What it is
Word Spies is a digital take on the classic two-team word-association party game. A shared grid of 25 words sits between two teams; each spymaster gives a single-word clue so their team can identify its words before the other team, while avoiding the assassin word. The twist is flexible seating: every position on either team can be filled by a human player or an AI model, allowing for solo play, co-op with AI teammates, or mixed human-and-AI matches.

“The daily puzzle and AI arena give me a fresh grid every session, but I'm still waiting for runs that really change how I play.”

“No-account, pick-up-and-play AI matches fit a coffee break perfectly, but I'd want clearer mobile support and progress before calling it commute-ready.”

“The one-word clue rule and instant win-probability feedback make every aha feel earned, though the assassin can punish a good clue with bad luck.”

“Clue-quality scores and shifting win chances are exactly the numbers I crave, but without account progression the long-term loop leans on beating your own stats.”
How to play
Each round, a spymaster offers a one-word clue intended to point their team toward specific words on the grid. After every clue, Word Spies evaluates the clue's quality and displays how each team's chance of winning has shifted. No account is required to play, and the game can be launched directly in the browser.
