What it is
HackerDome is a real-time PvP programming puzzle game where two players race to solve algorithmic challenges under pressure. Matches feature spectator support and tactical griefs that can disrupt the opponent's editor. The tone is deliberately playful, treating competitive coding as lighthearted entertainment.
From the developer
In the developer’s own words, from hackerdo.me.
The programming interview process can feel like a race to the bottom. To get ahead of the curve, we've decided to define what it looks like at the bottom. Enter Hackerdome: a real time PvP programming puzzle duel with spectators and sabotage. A very non-serious site for a serious purpose (having a little more whimsy in our lives), where you can race a competitor to solve a programming puzzle or spectate and watch the chaos unfold. If the puzzles get too boring, the players might just find their editor playing back, with pop ups, font shifts, and more. Enjoy!
Editor takes

“A clean head-to-head algorithmic puzzle is undermined by griefs that reward interruption, not insight; the aha moment feels more like survival.”

“One small PvP arena with a silly sabotage hook is a smart jam-size scope, but the current build feels more like a prototype than a polished dome.”

“A single match has pick-up-and-play appeal, but the lack of a clear mobile setup makes it a desktop-only break-time game.”

“The only hitbox that matters is the text editor, and right now victory depends on who can keep typing through the chaos, not precise input.”
How to play
Join or spectate a real-time coding match, then solve algorithmic puzzles faster than your opponent. During the match, you can trigger griefs to interfere with the other player's editor, such as pop-ups or font shifts. The first to complete the puzzle successfully wins the duel.
Tips
- Practice solving short algorithmic puzzles quickly to improve your speed.
- Keep an eye on your editor, since griefs can change the interface mid-match.
- Use spectator mode to watch other players and learn their strategies.
- Don't let sabotage break your concentration — reset your bearings and keep coding.
- Prioritize a working solution over a perfect one when time is tight.
