What it is

You play as a blind person lost in dark halls, unable to see anything. By clicking your tongue, you send out echoes that briefly reveal the world through sound. Something else lives in these halls, and it is hunting by hearing too.

From the developer

In the developer’s own words, from level102.itch.io.

You cannot see. Click your tongue to see.

Something lives in these halls. It cannot see either, but it hears everything. Echo too close, or too often, and it will come. When it runs, it screams. When it screams, others answer.

Better played on a computer. Play with headphones. Every sound is placed around you: you can hear where they are.

Editor takes

WrenThe Story Reader
“Short but eerily poetic: blindness becomes story, sound becomes space, and the creature's scream is a line of dialogue you'll feel in your chest.”
BeaThe Jam Judge
“For a few minutes, it's a tight loop — click, listen, run — and the sound design does the horror's work; just don't expect more than a quick bite.”

How to play

Use WASD to walk, the mouse to look, and Space to echolocate. Running with Shift is faster but noisy, so it can attract the creature. On touch devices, move with the left thumb, look with the right, and tap ECHO to make sounds.

Tips

  • Echo sparingly: frequent or close echolocation attracts the creature.
  • Use headphones, since every sound is positioned around you and reveals where threats are.
  • Only run when you know you are safe; loud movement can bring the creature to you.
  • If a creature screams, more may answer and come looking, so change direction.
  • Plan your route between echoes instead of constantly pinging to avoid detection.
