What it is
Wordchute is a free daily word game played on a 4x4 grid, with another 16 letters waiting above it. Each word you make clears tiles and lets the next letters fall into the board. The goal is to clear all 32 letters from the chute in a single puzzle.
Editor takes
“A compact daily puzzle with one clever mechanic—seeing what drops next—that does a lot with little, though its scope stays very small.”
“No signup, past boards are playable, and a fresh drop at 5 a.m. makes this a perfect short-break ritual if the mobile controls deliver.”
“All 32 letters visible from the start, diagonals count, and multiple full-clear routes—fair, legible rules with earned planning ahas.”
“The fixed board and falling letters promise a tight puzzle loop, but the real test is whether input stays snappy at speed.”
How to play
Look at all visible letters and link touching letters to make words of at least three letters; diagonals count. When you clear tiles, the letters waiting above fall into the empty spaces, so plan with the next drops in mind. Keep making words until the whole chute is empty.
Tips
- Check the letters waiting above before clearing tiles, because they will fall into the spaces you open.
- Longer words score more, but short words can help reposition the board.
- Diagonals count, so don't limit yourself to straight rows and columns.
- Everyone gets the same daily board, so replaying the day's puzzle can help you compare routes.
- If a day seems stuck, try a past board to practice full-clear strategies.
