“PICO-8's chunky 16-color palette is put to good use here — the screens read clean and bright, and while it's clearly borrowing VVVVVV's visual language rather than inventing its own, the retro pixel look stays faithful and tidy.”
“The gravity-flip snap is snappy and the built-in death counter is a nice nod to the source material, but with only 32 screens and no real difficulty ramp beyond the original's tricks, it's more of a warm-up lap than a speedrun gauntlet.”
“For a fan project this small — 32 screens, 7 trinkets, plus a standalone Gravitron Mode — it's impressively complete, with trackers and alternate modes that show real polish beyond the bare minimum.”
How to play
Move left and right with arrow keys or a gamepad, and flip gravity with Z/C or the A/Y buttons on an Xbox layout. The goal is to navigate 32 screens of the DSS Souleye's test course, collecting trinkets and avoiding hazards while tracking your time and death count.
Tips
- Collect all 7 shiny trinkets for a full clear.
- Use the built-in trackers to chase better times and fewer deaths.
- Try the standalone Gravitron Mode for a pure skill challenge.
