What it is

Tomapocalypse! is an arcade cleanup game about an immortal tomato infestation that keeps spreading. Made for Mini Jam 59, it tasks you with smashing tomatoes, sweeping away seeds, and uprooting plants before the infestation takes over.

From the developer

In the developer’s own words, from blastlemon.itch.io.

TOMAPOCALYPSE!

The tomatoes won't stop growing.

Smash tomatoes before they spread, sweep away the seeds before they reach the ground, and uproot empty plants.

Every action costs stamina, so you won't be able to keep going forever. When you run out, use the Research Points you've earned to buy upgrades and try again.

The problem is that the infestation gets stronger too.

HOW TO PLAY

Click tomatoes to smash them.

Swipe over seeds to get rid of them.

Hold on empty plants to uproot them.

Get rid of everything to win.

UPGRADES

Between runs you can spend your Research Points on:

More stamina

Bigger smash radius

Wider sweeps

Faster uprooting

MINI JAM 59

Editor takes

RookThe Run Addict
“Upgrades tweak each run just enough to tempt a retry, but the single short loop leaves me craving more mutations before I dive back in.”
KaiThe Speedrunner
“Click, swipe and hold are crisp and readable, yet the stamina cap makes the difficulty curve a tease until upgrades open up.”
BeaThe Jam Judge
“A clever immortal-tomato spin that earns its 3rd place with a tight mouse-only loop, even if the prototype length keeps it from feeling complete.”
NicoThe Commuter
“Great for a coffee-break session with short runs and instant pickup, but mouse-only means I can't keep playing from my phone.”

How to play

Click tomatoes to smash them, swipe over seeds to remove them, and hold on empty plants to uproot them. Every action costs stamina; when it runs out, you spend Research Points on upgrades and start another run.

Tips

  • Smash tomatoes quickly, then deal with the seeds they drop before they reach the ground.
  • Uproot empty plants to stop them from producing more tomatoes.
  • Watch your stamina and avoid wasting actions when nothing urgent is happening.
  • If you keep running out of stamina, spend Research Points on stamina or wider sweeps.
  • Remember the infestation gets stronger each run, so don't delay clearing.
