What it is
ROTETRA is a falling-block puzzle game with a twist: you can spin the entire board and manage several tetrominoes at once. It takes the classic tetromino-stacking formula and adds a more chaotic, multi-piece approach. The project is in development, with a browser build on itch.io and a desktop demo available on Steam.
From the developer

ROTETRA is a twisted tetromino stacker where you spin the whole board and juggle multiple pieces at once!
It's a bit cursed, but I've had a lot of fun making it!

Editor takes
“The grid-spin twist makes every drop a fresh puzzle, but the four-piece modes need a gentler ramp before the chaos feels fair.”
“It's easy to jump into a quick score-attack run in the browser, but with no touch support or save system mentioned, this is strictly a keyboard break game.”
“For a jam-sized in-dev project, it gets a lot of mileage from one rule—spinning the whole grid—and still finds room for polished audio and multiple modes.”
How to play
Guide falling tetrominoes as they land on the board, aiming to complete lines and clear space. Instead of only moving individual pieces, you can rotate the whole board and juggle multiple pieces at once, so placement order matters. Avoid letting the stack reach the top to keep playing.
Tips
- Keep your stack as even as possible so you always have room to place awkward pieces.
- Use the board rotation to spot placements you might miss in a standard stacker.
- Think about all the active pieces before committing, since several are falling at the same time.
- Clear lines early rather than letting small gaps build up into bigger problems.
- Stay flexible: a piece that looks bad now may become useful after a board spin.
