What it is
Minor Inconvenience is an endless strategy game about keeping a strange, unnamed contraption running. You monitor its systems, fix problems as they appear, and try to stave off the inevitable collapse as the machine grows more complex and demanding over time.
From the developer
In the developer’s own words, from blulio.itch.io.
An endless strategy game about controlling a weird contraption and preventing it from falling into disaster.
The contraption is a weird, mysterious, surprisingly important. And unfortunately, you are the one responsible for keeping it running.
Monitor its systems, fix problems as they appear, and try to keep everything under control. Imminent doom is always lurking as time goes on, since more systems become active, problems become more frequent, and keeping the contraption operational becomes increasingly difficult.

Editor takes
“The escalation curve is the whole game — problems pile up faster than you can fix them — but having to replay early rounds to unlock boards after a loss is the kind of pacing friction that kills the long-term loop.”
“The rules are clear enough to pick up in seconds — monitor, fix, survive — but the real question is whether the chaos ramp is fair or just random noise dressed up as difficulty.”
“There's a strange, almost melancholy poetry to babysitting a mysterious contraption you'll never fully understand, and the atmospheric 2D presentation sells that isolation better than most jam games manage.”
“For nine days and three people, this is remarkably polished — a tight real-time survival loop with genuine escalation — and the 2nd place finish out of 162 entries feels earned, even if the in-development status shows a few rough edges like the replay-to-unlock grind.”
How to play
The core loop is straightforward: watch the contraption's various systems, respond to failures, and manage resources to keep everything operational. As time passes, more systems activate, problems become more frequent, and the difficulty ramps up. The game is designed to be replayed, with a progression that unlocks additional boards after each run.
Tips
- Prioritize problems that threaten to cascade into larger failures.
- Learn the rhythm of each system's behavior to anticipate issues before they escalate.
- Expect to lose—the game is built around escalating chaos, and each run teaches you something new.
