What it is

Margin Brawl is a browser game that mixes tic-tac-toe with auto-battling and roguelike deckbuilding. You drag doodle-like monsters onto a 3×3 board, line up three to power them up, and watch them fight automatically. It was made for the Bezi Mega Jam 2026 and takes place across three chapters with bosses.

From the developer

In the developer’s own words, from blizzardfan.itch.io.

Your notebook has a goblin problem.

Tic-tac-toe meets auto-battling and roguelike deckbuilding. Drag your doodles onto a 3×3 board, line up three to double their attack, and watch the paper punches fly.

Upgrade your cards, collect treasures, and stitch monsters together into increasingly questionable creations. Survive three chapters and show the bosses who owns this notebook.

Editor takes

TheoThe Number Cruncher
“For a game that advertises a few seconds per session, the upgrade pacing across three chapters is a tightrope act—and the deckbuilding relics need to carry more weight than they do.”
JunoThe Puzzle Purist
“The rules snap into focus fast—drag, line up three, double attack—yet the roguelite layer adds a fair number of variables without always earning their aha moments.”

How to play

Drag your monster cards from your hand onto the 3×3 board. Line up three of your creatures to double their attack, then let the auto-battling resolve the fight. Hover over tiles to preview moves and attacks before committing.

Tips

  • Focus on creating rows, columns, or diagonals of three to trigger the attack-doubling bonus.
  • Use the hover preview to check where attacks will land before you place a card.
  • Upgrade your cards whenever you can instead of spreading resources too thin.
  • Collect treasures and relics to strengthen your run, especially before tougher chapters.
  • Stitch monsters together to build stronger creatures, but consider how they fit your board strategy.
