What it is
Manymancer is a minimalist tactical roguelike made in three days for Ludum Dare 60. You play as a mage who relies on a limited set of items to survive procedurally generated floors. Each turn matters: choose the right item, position yourself carefully, and outsmart enemies that attack when you end your turn next to them.

Editor takes
“The item-combo engine gives every run its own little build identity, but with no way to skip a turn and a fairly shallow pool of items, the variety starts to blur after a few floors.”
“For a 3-day Ludum Dare entry it's remarkably tight — wordless tutorials, clean vector art, and a clever core loop that punches far above its jam weight, even if it's missing polish like a fullscreen toggle.”
“The click-to-select, click-again-to-use control scheme feels snappy once it clicks, but the unclear enemy attack timing and lack of a skip option make the pacing feel less precise than it could be.”
“It's a perfect pick-up-and-play browser game with tap controls that work on a phone, but with no save and runs that demand your full attention, don't expect to drop in and out mid-run.”
How to play
Select items with a click, tap, or number keys, then use them with another click, tap, or arrow keys. The game is turn-based, so every action and movement counts. There is no explicit skip-turn option, so planning ahead is essential.
Tips
- Pay attention to enemy movement patterns – most enemies only strike when adjacent at the end of your turn, but some have special behaviors.
- Experiment with item combinations to build long action chains that shape your run.
- The interface is wordless, so learn by observing how enemies react to your moves.
Questions
Is there a way to skip a turn?
No explicit skip option is available; you must use an item or move each turn.
What platforms is Manymancer available on?
It runs in the browser and as a downloadable Windows executable.
