What it is

Malgrave's Spire is a pixel-art fantasy tower builder with a dungeon underneath. As the Steward, you raise the spire floor by floor, house monsters and townsfolk, and send them into the depths for loot. The game runs in the browser and keeps going while you're away.

From the developer

In the developer’s own words, from mcfrisk.itch.io.

Check out our trailer to get a glimpse what it's about! ( •̀ ω •́ )✧ ※The video says it's on mobile, but it's not yet so... yeah.

Editor takes

TheoThe Number Cruncher
“The upgrade pacing has promise as a short-session incremental, but with active balance changes and rough edges, the long-term loop isn't proven yet.”
NicoThe Commuter
“Perfect for a few minutes thanks to account saves and the spire running while you're away, but the mobile promise in the trailer isn't true yet.”

How to play

Move around the spire by dragging, scrolling, or using the arrow keys; Home and End jump to the roof or depths, and Ctrl+scroll (or + and −) zooms. Tap floors to open them and tap coins to collect them. Build and upgrade floors above ground, dig deeper below, and send equipped residents on dungeon runs to bring loot back.

Tips

  • Collect coins as they appear to keep the tower's economy moving.
  • Send residents into the depths regularly for loot, then use that loot to build, upgrade, and craft.
  • Give residents a class, level them up, and equip them before sending them down.
  • Keep in mind that raids may climb the spire, sometimes while you are away.
  • Join live events such as Raid Weekend for extra activity and rewards.
