What it is
Keep It Crispy is an action game where you play a dragon attacking a cartoon castle. Choose between fire, ice, or lightning breath and take on archers, ballistas, catapults, and a wizard boss.
From the developer
In the developer’s own words, from juslangit.itch.io.
You're the dragon. The castle is dinner. 🐉🔥
Pick your dragon, tilt your phone to swoop over a cartoon kingdom, and burn the castle keep to the ground, while archers, ballistas, catapults and one very grumpy wizard try to knock you out of the sky.
🏰 Mission: burn down the castle keep. A wizard's blue shield protects it, so burn the wizard tower first... then deal with the wizard himself.

🎮 How to play (hold your phone upright, two thumbs)
📱 Tilt like a steering wheel to turn. Tip the top of the phone away to dive, towards you to climb.
🎚️ Speed slider on the left. Slide it all the way down to hover in place.
🔥 Four attack buttons (bottom right). Press or hold one.
💨 DASH: a quick barrel roll that nothing can hit. Perfect for dodging!
⚠️ A red line and "!" means a ballista is aiming at you. Turn or dash!
🔴 A red ring on the ground is where a catapult boulder will land.
🐑 Hurt? Swoop low over sheep or villagers to gulp them up and heal. (The villagers walk home later, a bit slimy.)
🪙 Burn things quickly one after another for COMBOS and bonus gold.
A short tutorial teaches everything on your first flight.
✨ What's inside
🧙 A wizard boss who chases you on his broomstick, throwing magic orbs
👑 The king's last stand: knights rush out, the king waves a white flag... too late!
🗺️ Three kingdoms: Green Valley, ❄️ Frost Keep (snow and extra ballistas), ⚓ Harbour Hold (catapult ships at sea)
🎚️ Three difficulties: EASY is made for kids, NORMAL is a fair fight, HARD is... hard
🏆 Eight trophies to earn, your best stars saved for every kingdom, and a new daily challenge every day
💰 A golden ending: your dragon sits on a big heap of treasure
💬 Villagers, knights, the king and the wizard all have something to say about you
🎬 Cutscenes: the dragon waking up, the wizard bursting out, the keep crashing down (tap to skip)
🎨 A cartoon look: bold ink outlines and flat, punchy shading on everything, from the castle to the pine and leafy trees
⚙️ Good to know
📱 Phones: "Tap to play" opens the game as its own page, because that's how phones allow tilt. Tap Allow when asked about motion. No tilt? Drag on the left side to steer instead.
💻 Computer: the dragon steers towards your mouse, click to breathe, 1–4 pick an attack, space to dash.
⏸️ Pause menu: camera style, re-centre tilt, invert dive, sound, music, left-handed controls, and GRAPHICS LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH (also on the title; Android phones start on LOW).
It's all cartoon mischief: villagers run off waving their arms, and the king escapes with his crown. 👑

Editor takes
“Tilt controls are responsive enough for tight turns, and the dash's invincibility frames save you from cheap shots; the difficulty slider keeps the challenge honest.”
“For a jam game this is remarkably polished: three playable dragons, a full tutorial, cutscenes, and a wizard boss — easily deserves its runner-up spot.”
“Three distinct dragon movesets, combo chaining, and a daily challenge give real reasons to keep flying after the castle is ash.”
How to play
On a phone, tilt like a steering wheel to turn, tip the top away to dive, and tip it toward you to climb; use the speed slider to slow or hover. On a computer, the dragon steers toward your mouse, click to breathe, use 1-4 to pick an attack, and press space to dash. Hold or press attack buttons to use the dragon's four breath attacks, and use the dash as a quick barrel roll to dodge incoming fire.
Tips
- Burn the wizard tower first so the wizard's blue shield protecting the castle keep goes down.
- Use the ice dragon if you want to freeze defenders so they can't shoot.
- Use the lightning dragon if you want attacks that jump between buildings.
- Watch for the red line and '!' warning: a ballista is aiming at you, so turn or dash.
- Swoop low over sheep or villagers to gulp them up and heal, and keep burning things quickly to build combos and bonus gold.
